an aromatic liqueur that comes in green and yellow varieties. The yellow, colored with saffron, is lighter and sweeter in flavor. Green Chartreuse-- colored with clorophyll-- is drier, has a sharper, more aromatic flavor and is higher in alcohol (110 proof).
