• Champorado, chocolate risotto and Thai black sticky rice | Asian cooking | Home-cooking rocks!: In Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, there are dark and sweet rice dishes too. Like champorado and risotto al cioccolato, they are made with glutinous rice but no chocolate is added. Rather, the dark color comes from the color of the rice. Despite being labeled as ?black sticky rice?, the grains are a dark purple and the flavor is somewhat nutty. Filipinos, probably out of habit and association, mistake these Southeast Asian sweet rice dishes for champorado never discerning that complete lack of chocolate flavor. Here are my versions of two of these dishes.

• Food: Have Crockpot Chicken Tacos Waiting When You Come Home: I'm a HUGE fan of crockpot cooking. I generally use it for pot roasts, but have several recipes I regularly use it for. The easiest is: 2 cans black beans 16 oz jar salsa 1/2 cup brown rice (uncooked) 1 lb chicken breast Place frozen chicken breasts in slow cooker. Pour beans, rice and salsa over chicken. Cook low 8-10 hours and serve. Serves 6 Fat: 1.9g Carbohydrates: 40.0g Calories:298.9 Protein: 30.8g
